Netorare Lied: When Shit Gets TOO Serious [NSFW pictures]

The usual reaction of romanticized netorare.

These days, cheating and promiscuity has become a fashionable trend not just with males, but even females. Not saying that they deserve less, but females have been traditionally referred to as the more “obedient” and “family-oriented” one. Regardless, this brings me to the topic of “netorare”, a genre that depicts a partner getting “stolen” by some stranger and then becoming their partner. Messed up “shit”, right?

While this actually happens nowadays, and we do get instances of romantic partners “getting stolen”, the way netorare portrays the situation seems too surreal. First of all, would stranger-sex be so good that the wife gets hopelessly addicted to it? Secondly, I don’t think wives would ever let strange men enter their households while their husbands leave for work. Like seriously, not all women are so promiscuous, now are they? Lastly, cases of where netorare-like situations have never been reported. It just seems too absurd. While anime/hentai serves as a gateway for people to have more vivid imaginations, it should not get to the point where reality is completely ignored. How would you feel if your wife got stolen, thanks to her sexual desires? How would you feel if that was your mother? Now don’t get me started on your grandmother, but I guess you get the point.

This is my inspiration for the post. Grotesque depiction of netorare.

I’m not saying I disapprove of netorare, because after all, it is a real aspect of life, and can (should) be incorporated into anime for a more realistic effect. However, in most cases where netorare is featured, it is overly explicit and too sexualized to effectively portray real netorare situations. While Hollywood is definitely not the best role model of things, but they do the whole “cheating partner drama” thing quite well. It’s not too sexualized, not too explicit, and in most cases, utterly believable. On the other hand, anime portrays netorare as something that is an act of disorderly sexual desires.

Of course, netorare cannot just be “toned” down and some cases are because of sexual intercourse, the way anime does is just “too over”. Perhaps in the future we’ll get to see a more realistic netorare anime, but until then, I guess I’m not touching that genre for a long time.

This is how netorare should be depicted. "Forced", I would say.
